PRODUCTION MANAGER
Matter Made is looking for a hands-on Production Manager to join our team in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, NY.
Your responsibilities include:
• Providing answers for general, technical, availability, & lead time questions from our sales team
• Receiving and entering purchase orders into our production management system
• Assigning tasks to Production Techs based on lead times, order priority, & part availability
• Reviewing purchase orders for special requirements
• Overseeing quality control for incoming parts and outgoing products
• Assisting Production Techs with assembly, packaging, and shipping when necessary
• Ordering, managing & tracking in-house part inventory and oversight of off-site storage
• Placing purchase orders with vendors for raw and finished parts & maintaining communication with vendors
• Maintaining up-to-date information in our inventory system
• Working with logistics for incoming and outgoing shipments (FedEx, DHL, freight, international)
• Onboarding Production Techs and assisting with troubleshooting
• Ordering off-the-shelf parts and packing supplies
• Organizing occasional sample sales
• Communicating with vendors and accounting regarding vendor invoices
Your skills and experience include:
• 3+ years in lighting production & assembly
• Fine motor skills and experience with hand & power tools, soldering, and packaging
• Excellent organization, attention to detail, and problem solving
• Professional and clear communication between team members and clients
• An ability to read and understand production drawings and instructions
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat) & Google Suite (Gmail, Drive, Sheets)
• Familiarity with UL listing requirements and testing
• Experience with shipping via FedEx, DHL, and freight is a plus
• Ability to lift up to 50lb
